Phil,
Anytime a political party shows the intolerance that the "far right"
has shown for other people...it scares the hell out of me.
I'm not gay...but I don't think the GOP has the right...under the guise of family values...to condem them.
I'm never going to get pregnant...but I don't think the GOP has the right to decide if a woman can have an abortion. Its a personal issue that should never have become a political issue.

The fanatics of the far right remind me of Hitler...when he condemed the Jews...it didn't matter to most...as long as you weren't Jewish.

As long as your not gay...why worry.
As long as you don't have to deal with abortion...why worry.

What do I do when its me they target?

Politicians should never be so wrapped up with their religous values..that they get blinded to the purpose they were elected to perform. The framers of the constitution tried to stress this by making a point of separating church and state. The "far right" feels they have the right...to decide what is best for all..as long as you agree with their thinking...I guess they're fine. The problem I see is that I don't happen to agree with religous values in politics...and to that thought.. in and of itself...the "far right" has no tolerance.

Unfortunately, with people not accepting responsibility for their own actions....and politicians like Clinton...I can see where the GOP has a legitimate stance pertaining to morality in this country. I just don't see the need to base morality with religous convictions. Most people I know don't need to be religous just to have values and know the difference between right and wrong.

As to rights being trampled...I'm being premature. If the intolerance to anyone that doesn't think like them continues...its just a matter of time.

I guess I'm just an ultra-liberal republican.
