Jim, by exposing my child to the other side of life, I had in mind mud huts with outside plumbing and not enough clothes to wear, and sorrow of all kinds. You know, what passes for reality on much of the planet. My daughter thinks Gap is the clothier of the entire universe. I have really tried, but it is hard for children to appreciate everything with an unjaundiced attitude if relative privilege is all they see around them. Do you have a program like that going on? You act all curmudgeonly, but I bet you are really a sweetheart, and even feed your cat a tiny bit of lovingly chopped filet mignon on occasion.
