Fred has vanished so perhaps you can help me out here;

The NYSE Advance Volume; I'm showing 84.103

Can that be correct? Is it to be multiplied by one million to get the true number?

On another topic, I put a chart on the machine using something I saw in TASC. Although it's a long term indicator it looks good on charts as short a period as 5 minute ticks. It's a crossover technique using eMAs I have the faster ones in red and the slower ones in blue so it's easy to distinguish what is happening.

Hm, I was to tell you the points and I see I made an error somewhere. I have 6 fast eMAs and 5 slow ones. Should be the same number of both, it would seem.

Until I figure that out, the fast ones are 3, 5, 8, 10, 12, 15 and the slow are 30, 35, 40, 45, and 60.

Looking at the daily version, the red ones converged right after the peak in July...crossed over the blue at the beginning of August.

The blues converged all through August then started an obvious decline.

The reds converged in mid October then eventually crossed over the blue in late October. The Blue is currently converging.

So, what's that all mean? To me, it appears to be a trend indicator which would keep you on the right side of a trade and also warn you when there appears to be a change in direction as the fast eMAs converge and start to hit the blue. Occasionally, there is no complete convergence and the signal stays long (for example). But in each case where there was a total crossover there appears to be a sharp counter move in the market at roughly the same time.
