<<What happens if or is it a matter of when an eight hundred pound gorilla buys this technology?>>

I'm sure that is exactly what SilkRoad is fishing for.

John, the real question is what are the limits to MRVC's DWDM technology?

The potential of Fiber is not even close to 1% tapped yet. MRVC is strong in Optics - and according to that 29% R&D increase in Q3 is getting stronger. I asked if their dynamic DWDM-16 was near any limits, and the answer is no.

16 * 2.5GB (OC-48) = 40GB vs SilkRoad's claim to 90GB. MRVC obviously has similar technology, only DWDM based. What if MRVC comes out with
16 OC-192s (160GB) for example?

The game as I see it is to have a full range of next generation products, with any-to-any connectivity and protocol conversions, and then to get ACCESS to the carrier, CLEC markets, etc. MRVC already has the first two. That last is the real trick, and Noam keeps saying they are working on strategic partners.

It's the waiting that is tough.
