Checkout today's Wall street Journal. Good article on subject. Gives summary of a risk-adjustment study (M-suared method)of small cap funds (vs Russell 2000,etc.). List of the top 10 (risk adjusted) for 10 year period. Most have betas from 0.8 to 1.2.

It was not the tax man, since the fund is in an IRA at Schwab.

It was partially inaction, since I have been very busy with business-related issues.

It was also partially a feeling of disgust that the original recommendation did not work out better.

We are just 4% or so off the record high in the S & P 500.

This week:

Russell 2000 -- 5.8%
NASDAQ --- 4.7%
S & P -- 3.8%

From the lows:

NASDAQ -- 31%
Russell 2000 -- 29%
S & P -- 19%
