Betty, frankly I think that what my party (the Democratic one) needs right now is some genuine extremism. That is, "extremism" in the sense employed by Barry Goldwater, when he said that "extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice." Extremism in the sense of real commitment to a cause, I suppose. Right now the only "extremism" I see, on a regular basis, is an "extremism" of rhetoric. People a-yellin' and a-hollerin' at each other, to no good purpose, and for no real reason. And, quite typically, the closer they actually are to one another, the louder they yell.. jbe
