One of my favorite politicians right now happens to be Daniel Patrick Moynihan, I wish your party would pay more attention to him. bp

The guard aint gonna let it happen.

<<frankly I think that what my party (the Democratic one) needs right now is some genuine extremism.>>

The last 30 years has been deceptively empty of real change and cultural innovation. Sure there has been a lot of back fill for changes garnered over three decades ago, but that's it. The abortion issue is not resolvable except at the ideal level. So, we can rant about our ideals and take stands someplace. The race issue is not resolvable because their will always be bigotry and hatred that can't be legislated away. If the whole planet was one race, you know we would still have prejudice about our differences. Gender roles are not resolvable because you can change the whole culture to fit your definition of what should be and there will always be a justified movement against the status quo. These are the oppressive push-me pull-you issues that have become old and would not even be out there for us to fuss about anymore if we hadn't become fixed to our immutable rants. I honestly don't believe this can continue and am waiting to see the next chaotic slice it the lining of the universe that moves us from oppressive intrenchement. Neither the Republicans nor the Democrats are bold enough to crack the egg to see what is ready to peek out.
