"We find Epoc is a very reliable, proven solution and the best available for very small portable devices," said Liisa Nyyssonen, a spokeswoman for Nokia. While the idea of competition in the smart-phone market is welcome, Nokia is concerned that if two incompatible operating systems go head-to-head, the user could suffer, she said.

Yes, NF, unlike L M Ericsson, Nokia at least has the wit to be concerned, but Lisa stammered so much she couldn't get her name [Lisa Nyson] right! That shows they ARE concerned, but not about the users you can be sure. They are concerned about themselves.

Already this is shaping up to be the better quality Beta Epoc and this Johny-come-lately to market CommSoft VHS.

The fun is just beginning!

Of course, this is why they choose the Geoworks OS in the first place, eh? So what does the installed base of Nokia 9000 people do now? Wait and not buy until symbian really produces an OS so they won't be left out again or buy now and use it for a year or so and then throw it away....

they already have two incompatible OS systems in place and I would be a confused consumer....
