The Iran contra investigation lasted longer and produced 3 convictions not overturned. Whitewater,etc..., has lasted years shy at this point of Iran Contra, and has something in the teens I think, for convictions not overturned. Hmmm... . The Reagan/Bush Whitehouses turned over everything asked of them by the Special Prosecutor quickly, with not a single battle over documents. The bottom line is that like the early days of Watergate, when the front pages almost weekly headlined new evidence and speculations, Nixon still enjoyed 70% approval ratings 'til the smoking gun came out. Now, the Clinton whitehouse behaves very much like the Nixon whitehouse when it comes to producing documents. Many folks were very sure Nixon was guilty- and were proven right. Now many are sure Clinton is guilty- and the circumstantial evidence, just as in the case of Nixon, is a mountain! The only difference thus far is the lack of the smoking gun to date- save the Jones injustice/pertinent Lewinsky evidence miasma(what a putz Clinton is- he's charged to admit he requested an unrequited BJ from Jones, and he expects us to believe he didn't think "sex" as defined in THAT CASE, would cover requesting- with a sly glance down there- a Lewinsky BJ-HA HA HA!-as a caller on the tube said the other day, he's our Pee Wee Herman President! Only worse- because he runs around calling otherwise decent sexually consenting citizens liars when HE is the liar on the subject!). Clinton is almost certainly guilty of most of the other charges against him, but his wife learned well the lessons of Nixon- don't let the evidence out!
