The problem faced by Microsoft shareholders is that to justify its stock's price, Microsoft had BETTER take over the entire world. Any weakness could cause this house of cards to come crashing down, particularly given the way they compensate their employees. Expectations, and consequently the stock's valuation, are very high.

Nobody is arguing they don't make money. At least for now.

Late edit: Put another way, "taking over the entire world" is already priced into the stock.

JMHO, of course.

"The MSFT-Lemmings are ticked because they don't like hearing that their competition is stopping them from taking over the entire world."

Wrong, Toy. Many of us are just tired of the whiney, chip on the shoulder attitude you have. Take the above posting for example. There is not a single, solitary fact in that statement. What is really pathetic is that the very informative article that you cite is informative, but is overshadowed by the emotion that you project. Listening to your posts is a lot like having dinner with teenage children. You really have to listen carefully for any real information about what is going on. Fortunately, I am not responsible for your development, so I don't have to listen. I can find the good information that you hide in your postings from the same sources that you have.
