I must note again that I was pleased to see the cigar show up in Henry Hyde's questions.

And which question number was that, out of the 81 questions?

I just finished reading all 81 questions, and I didn't see any reference to the cigar penetration act. I saw a box of cigars listed as a gift.

Oh I know its disappointing that Hyde wants Clinton to "admit or deny" these things, but there appears to be several areas of discrepancy in sworn testimony.

Guess Clinton doesn't get a free pass after all.

>The Republican party has to figure out how to please both its puritan moralist core and the general electorate,<

Well this is one "puritan" who did not take much issue with Clinton's past indiscretions. I took issue with his current ones, including flatly lying about his past. Were Bush to employ the same tactics as Clinton to hide some issue of his life, I would reject him with exactly the same harshness. I would rather have had Clinton ignore the public question. In court, I would rather have had him plead the fifth. Instead he lied and he did it repeatedly, both to our faces and to our courts. Now I believe he abused someone's star struck daughter, and very likely a lot of other women. And I no longer respect or trust my countrymen because those women could have been any of our daughters or wives. Yet my countrymen do not care. They have no self-respect.
