<Japan> Tim: If you get a chance read MIT economist Paul Krugman's article on Japan which I think appeared in Financial Times (London)not too long ago.According to him what Japan needs is some unconventional remedies which haven't been tried or tested anywhere else to jump start the economy since theirs is a unique problem which none has experienced thus far .One of the interesting points he made was that even if Japan had a negative real interest rate their saving rate would still be higher than the capital investments or some such thing and therein lies the problem. Anyway if I find it again I will post it here.
