Jim: You've mentioned Kevin Landis and his technology funds, one of which still had as many as 470,000 shares of Adaptec as of 30 Sep. Today he will be a keynote speaker at the San Diego Electronics and Tech Stocks Forum held at the Mission Valley Radisson. According to the schedule, his talk is from noon until 12:45. Anyone wanting to hear his talk (or the whole conference) live can do so on a computer by going to the VCall web site, registering (simple and free), and selecting the appropriate button.

At least that's how it's supposed to work. I haven't tried it but shall. You need Real Audio. The VCall link is:

According to a Business Wire article, "Landis will give his outlook on tech stocks, from the communications sector to the PC industry to semiconductor equipment makers. While technology inexorably marches forward, the timing of being invested in specific stocks is key for long-term success, he says. Landis has been a top performer among fund managers from the inception of Technology Value Fund in May, 1994 through mid-1998 with gains of approximately 40% compounded annually."

If you haven't much else to do at noon, you might want to tune in.
