Regarding the short interest, they changed the tax law in 1998 on how short sales vs the box are treated. As I understand it, those long the stock this year and who hedged their position with a short sale vs the box, must cover their shorts by November 30 lest the short sale be considered an actual sale for tax purposes. I am not an expert in this area and perhaps those who are may clarify this. What it means, however, is that for the next several weeks there will be tax driven short covering on XYLN.
