That's probably most of what Bezo is concerned about. Even if Bezo is successful in getting the FTC to look into and challenge the acquisition, Barnes and Noble and Ingram can challenge that in court which could take up to years to resolve. In the meantime, B & N/Betelsmann will gain the strategic advantage no matter what the outcome.

What this signifies is that competition is starting to heat up and Amazon is no longer the only fish in the pond. Anyone who expects competition to ease up or for fat margins to develop for this fattened cow, they need to get their heads out of the clouds (or the rears of the company CEOs, brokerages and VCs).
