I agree completely that the last 3 months of 1999 could be ugly indeed, at least as far as big business is concerned. This may seem remarkable to you, but most small businesses have yet to address the problem at all, and many will procrastinate into the last 3 months. Another mystery factor is consumers. Very few consumers are likely to have a problem, but they don't know this, and they could well be scared into replacing older home computers as the media becomes increasingly hysterical as 2000 approaches. This late year small business and consumer buying could keep sales strong clear to the end of 1999. Since small businesses and consumers don't buy many disc arrays, this could be a negative for the drive sector, though.

In fact a good play for late 1999 could well be computer retailers, but don't be caught holding the bag at the end of the year when they turn into pumpkins. <G>
