It seems like Amazon has so many other directions it can go and be more
successful. They've already shown they can do it with music.

Doug,

What was the net profit on their music sales? For that matter, what was the gross profit? I need to understand success here.

Glenn

Doug,

You should be embarassed. You make statements and do not have a clue. This is real money here. You do not know how much was spend on advertising. You do not know the margins on music. There is nothing you do know from the company release. But you state they could be profitable. You are being fooled by AMZN management and do not even know it.

Glenn

All three of your scenarios would be restraint of trade, and grossly illegal. B&N/Ingram could try to do it subtly, but I doubt they would let themselves be exposed to Amazon's public profile on the issue.

< They could do it with clothing, with cars, with groceries, with computers, with online auctions, etc.>
Morgan Stanley say's "We love selling this stock, especially to our clients with wild imaginations".
Current Amzn position. Nov, Jan puts, bought a long time ago.
Current strategy. If Bezos is selling 180,000 shares. Why would I want to buy them?
This is not a stock to mess with. It's too close to its peak.
Stick to Aol and Yhoo! Next years dream team.
Regards

<< I think you are right that Amazon is putting N2K and CDNow out of business. >>

And AMZN is slowly but surely putting itself out of business.
