Ausdauer, I have begun wondering if there is any future at all to the concept of flash "cards" in photographic use. At the expense of a few ounces and dollars, IBM minidrives and 200MB floppies will find their way inside cameras. And, within a few years, it will be economically feasible to imbed enough flash memory within the camera to exceed the reasonable needs of any amateur photographer.

I can just see the TV ad with one father shooting dozens of pictures at his kid's baseball game while a second father fumbles through his pockets looking for another flash card. Dad #1 sets the camera in front of his PC and pictures pop up with no human intervention. Dad #2 is still trying to figure out which end of the flash card goes into what slot.

IMHO, unless SNDK finds another high-volume use for CF, Moore's Law is certain to render it as obsolete as the punch card.
