Ken, I have no problem with the automatic update of any of the ticker symbols that I've outputted to my virtual directory using the "output to metastock" function.

How do you go about setting up a new list in an existing virtual directory?

Ken's right on this one.

Do not use the Output to Metastock program in a virtual directory. It creates Real files for those symbols in the virtual directory. The virtual driver will ignore any real files it finds in those directories, they will no longer be updated by the virtual driver.

If you use Windows explorer to view the .DAT files in a virtual directory, you will see that the file size is always exactly 64k. If the file size is not 64 k, then it's no longer virtual.

If you close the virtual daemon by right clicking on the QV logo in your task bar and choosing close, then when you view the .DAT files with Windows Explorer, you will se a file size of 0. Any files that do not have a length of 0 are real.

If you have mixed real files in a virtual directory, you should delete them and re create the virtual directories using the virtual profile program.
