No complaints since yesterday? I'm playing with the pencils and filling out the application forms to move to B&C. With all the activity on the thread lately, I've held off getting them in the mail.

Is everything working OK again?

Thanks,

jim

<<It is one of the cleanest interfaces I have ever
seen.>>

I agree fully. I have had a brown account for over 2 years, and have used most other major discounters extensively as well. WHEN Brown's system is running right it is the smoothest I have ever used on an online broker. However, aside from the chronic down-time recently, there is one big issue I feel is lacking in their system, the clarification of the status of orders which you attempt to cancel. With the proliferation of baskets and outright shutting-off of stock by mayer and nite (from the automatic system), this is more critical now than ever. Etrade, Eschwab, Datek, and Fidelity (fidelity i do NOT recommend) do clarify pending cancels/UR Outs. You CAN cancel mkt orders that are on manual with both mayer and nite (herzog is another story), but with brown you dont know if you are done or out on the trade, so you can either get into involved phone call or use another broker. For a scalper, this is a major issue, and the main reason i hardly use brown at all anymore.
