Jenna - I am a newbie to short term trading and TA. Have subscribed to your Market Gems. Looks great. I suspect you have answered this question before and if so please point me to the response number. Also would appreciate comments from others -

What software and data service do you recommend. I believe end of day is all I need to start with. I may want to grow into options also but not this year. So what is the best cost/benefit for software and data service for a beginner?

TIA,
John Lee

Out of VRSN.. and into CKSG from watch list(waited for it to come back from negtive territory. NEWZ,IMIC,SCXX,CKSG,AMD..DELL nice breakout .... any one of them would have been a good trade this morning. now SPYG looks like it might come back into buy range, but it's been up 4 points intraday yesterday, it needs a little rest if only for a few hours or a day. Closed trades: PSUN,BKE

Position trades are RNWK, VRIO,RMII, FOSL,STRX,IFCI and GNSSF (all these from 1 day to 2 weeks)..but will sell off MSPG, PKS before today's close.

HMA from November 5 watch list and HCRI from the November 4 were up quite a bit today. They are fine very low priced stocks that would have made for excellent trades. It would now be better to put 3-5 days of watch lists on your database instead of 1-3. That is because when I put together a watch list I look for the 'BEST' of the sector and I like to post a few sectors at a time.. Now if the stock doesn't move the next day it just means the entire sector is under pressure (i.e. drug sector, business services, etc)..

The following day the sector could improve and then that particular stock will continue its uptrend. The earnings plays are getting more sparse now so you should put equal if not more emphasis on the watch lists. I myself am 'guilty' of not looking today further than the last two watch lists. Of course if there are many other plays (as there were today) you are not missing much profitwise, but it would still be a good idea to take advantages of all the stocks and not neglect them because they happened not to move that particular day..

more mail: MDDS.. CCIL

CCIL was and is an 'earnings play' but the volume and spreads are not viable for trading, at least not so far. CCIL has done extremely well this year.. with a high 64.75 and low of 26.30 and is now trading at 64.18 It's year relative strength is 97th percentile, but it would have been better to buy and hold this for a short/intermediate term rather than as an earnings play.

MDDS...'met' expectations but they were very high. Revenues improved by 96%.

The stocks needs time to retreat also. The trend was pretty strong but the stochastics and both the MACD and MACD histogram were looking a little overbought. The lower than usual volume on such a day with a good earnings report confirms trend reversal. As long as MDDS does not go under support of 11 7/8 and bounces off that level it will recover.
