Diana:

How about this brilliant piece of advice from LT (aka Nostradamus) ?

My original target was for a bottom during August-Sept, and while we did get a nice bounce from there. IMO, that was not the bottom it was close. Anyone who bought there should probably just hold. Anyone who has bought in the last week or so, should probably sell. Unfortunately, I think the drillers will likely see at least 50% to 80% losses from here till the ultimate bottom.

Lets see now...if you bought at 47 and are holding at 70, just hold here even though, uh, its going down to at least 35 and maybe 14, according to my "work" and my smart friends. With great advice like this free on the net, who needs financial planners ? This guy is very useful...as a contrarian indicator since he has been WRONG about 80-90% of the time. He really needs to add an H to his IMO though humble pie is very obviously not LT's favorite snack food.<g>

diana g' well said....

& enough said.

Even his neighbors on LTD began to politely suggested he stifle his continual backtracking and doubletalk.Had to be a Margin Call -Short Crushed - Maniac Depression <VBG> .

Luc; I was down 1.13% today; I don't own the OSX index ! Also; what ''call'' did I make; the one where I took profits in 2-3 waves, the one where I went to 35%+ cash; the one where I said it was a ''traders'' market; or the fact that I love buying the laggards here at the bottoms with a very enthusiastic longterm sentiment ? Contrast my ''calls'' with your ''fringe'' ecentricity of screaming ''Sell Now - before it's too late'' - are you serious ? I think you need a shrink, seriously. Do you read ''anything'' before you post ? Go back and read the companies I suggested buying and when I targeted them; VTS RRC FGII CXIPY DRQ CDIS SCSWF ...

I think the point that made a lasting impression; was Loquacious T's call for - ''sell now, before its too late'' - a classic Chicken Little yelling "Fire'' in a Theatre call. Later he had the audacity (or just memory lapse) to post something about ''anyone who sets a time or price is selling something''....ie: ''his'' down 50-80%(being OSX 14 !) & sell now.... at one time I found him somewhat entertaining and he seemed to have a clue; no longer... I just wonder what ''he's'' selling...

I don't see down 80% or anywhere near it; in fact OSX up 28.25% since the end of August... for those at least partially in cash or those who have been bottom fishing; ie: PKD TCMS HLX OMNI not much pain... Most people here have a solid cash position and or have taken profits here. I can only hope for another round of $12 FGII & $22 RON etc,,,These capital spending cuts were hardly a surprise. Another Fed Cut will restart this back in the other direction. Just good trading opportunities.

Anyone notice the NOESIS charts of late; actually not bad at all... When the case of the ''missing oil'' and the conflicting report numbers are resolved ; it may be very surprising where Crude Prices end up. Add in a little conflict in Iraq ?

A classic Buy the Dip opportunity into the face an OPEC meeting & a very strong possibility of another Fed Cut ; this is a gift.

PS Anyone else wonder how the tech sector can be so strong; which at least partially has to be a result of lessened fears of a continued weak Asian demand; but yet the Oilpatch is ''overbought'' ? at these levels - because of ''its'' nearterm increasing positive demand expectations for crude oil & prices?

Being 35% cash gives the ability to bottom fish; I'd wait - this could continue, but not to OSX 14 like LT's down 80% call <VBG>...
