Sorry if this is a dumb question. It is the only way I can learn. Shops, I like shops. I buy almost everything from a shop, but I live in a major metropolitan area. I have relatives that live in less populated areas. They buy items from catalogs not available in local stores, and I think would be more likely to purchase items over the Internet. I think the mass of internet purchases might come from rural America then the more populated areas. The exception would be unique items not found in local stores. Catalogs and the internet give us better access to those items. Bargains are always a delight. I just ordered Office 97 for $41.00 including handling. Delivery will be in five to six weeks. If I could have purchased in my local store for $41, I could have already installed the program. However, the Internet purchase was about 10 times cheaper. Your comments on American left overs are interesting. We often buy English goods because they are English. There is a certain sophistication or sense of history attached to those goods. Too bad the reverse is not true. A certain sense of the future being attached to American electronic goods. Culture is a funny thing. Our culture is so diverse, we don't think about it. Your point about Compaq company people calling direct on enterprise clients is a solid point. When you use the term enterprise, did you mean all businesses or just the super big business company with many branches? NW
