That's a pretty impressive list of "opinions and insinuations" out of a simple sentence, George. Maybe you're reading a little too much into it?

Despite last week's Election Day losses and the stunning resignation of House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Republican members of the House Judiciary Committee appeared yesterday to be no less eager to pursue impeachment proceedings against President Clinton.

Take out the first half, which you don't seem to have a problem with, and we have

The House Judiciary Committee appeared yesterday to be no less eager to pursue impeachment proceedings against President Clinton.

Eager? Everybody around here on the Republican side appeared pretty eager about the whole thing, both before and after the election. Should be less eager? You could just as well say the implication was that the committee was being steadfast in its duties. Influenced by the election? That would imply that you consider the whole issue outside the realm of politics. I find that particular opinion curious.

I'd say your reading of that sentence has a lot more OPINION AND INSINUATION in it than the sentence itself, but that's just my OPINION.

Cheers, Dan.
