>>..so where do you presume they store all their downloads? <<

The average sized hard drive a computer ships with nowadays is 8-10 Gigabytes. This is an absurd amount of room for the average user (but necessary for the Computer Makers to include as to keep up with the Jones's)

This is PLENTY of room to store downloads off the Net. Backup? Archive? Most people don't do it (regardless of whether they should). But more and more people are turning towards the CD-R/RW option for this purpose. Not Iomega's. In fact, we are now seeing the first top tier of computers now shipping with a CD-RW drive instead of anything by Iomega. Gateway has a 450Mz model like this, as well as some smaller Boxmaker companies. But look out for a LOT more configurations like this (DVD and a CD-RW -no Zip) in the next generation of boxes.

Besides, Iomega has to lower their drive prices to $$$ Loss Levels in order to sell them already. Why this doesn't worry Iomaniacs is beyond me.
