When Clinton first ran for President in 1992, the question was never about whether or not he succeeded in Arkansas. It was more along the lines of whether his success in Arkansas could be translated into success at the national level.

It is sheer revisionism to say that Clinton failed in Arkansas; for if he had, that would have been hung around his neck and he would have lost the elections right there, in 1992.
