twt, they are different compounds, but both drugs interfere with the production of the enzyme, cyclooxygensase-2, linked to pain and swelling, without blocking the action of a related one, cyclooxygenase-1, or Cox-1, hence they are called Cox-2 inhibitors. They treat the same symptoms. Once-a-day vs twice-a-day, I guess we'll see whether that affects the sales. Many people are already taking other drugs twice a day, they may prefer the twice-a-day Celebrex.
