From yesterday's WSJ:

Raw steel production for week ending 11/7 down 4.1% from last week, down 15.7% from last year. Capacity utilization at 76.1%, down from 79.4% last week and 92.1% from same week one year ago.

But Abby Jo says this contagion thing is a financial issue and not economic. So I called her. (On a strictly confidential basis, she told me that the steel boys are low-balling their reported production numbers until they get through this nasty steel dumping thing they have going on with the Japanese, Brazilians and Koreans.)

So I bought more EBAY.

Did you see this? It has the sound of a book destined for future publication, if things turn out as suggested here. If this link has already appeared on this thread, please excuse redundancy.
