And it should be fully supported in the up and coming soon to be released eXcelon product by Object Design.

Now imagine leveraging XQL (XML query language) on persistent data not using an OO database...

Think about the number of "Joints" and "Connect By" you will have to do in order to query such structural data stored in a relational database...

This is exactly why I am so excited about this new technology.
It will empower XML developers with OO database without the hardship of the OODBMS API.

I truly see it as, finally, a real breakthrough for Object Design.

What a pity that Object Design did not rate a mention in this story. The company still has an incredibly low profile, to the extent that most IT professionals (let alone general managers) have zero awareness of the company. This has to change for ODIS to realise its potential.
