Some bad news for AMD investors. Compaq today introduced their Prosignia brand of computers, aimed directly for small/medium businesses. These computers can be ordered directly, as opposed through resellers, and are supposed to compete against Dell's direct order system.

Rumors had it that Compaq might go with AMD chips. Well, Compaq is going with all Celeron A/PII systems for both desktops and notebooks. This is significant since AMD desparately needs to expand their market base to the business side, and Compaq, one of their staunchest allies, shuts them out!
