"Copy Exact" is a stupid methodology if carried out religiously. Semiconductor equipment is always being improved just like the chips, so to always buy exactly the same thing is unreasonable. AMD had no problems going from 1M to 2.7M to 3.8M to (possibly) 5M without using "copy exact."
