Close, but I think it DOES mean that Intel has put CREAF on some of its motherboards...

Intel has been manufacturing their own boards for quite some time. They use a number of different suppliers.

The people on the CUBE thread call this game "connecting the dots"

Here's how it works:

Gateway has to purchase motherboards for their computers
...
INTC sells motherboards as well as chips
...
CREAF manufactures audio chips as well as soundcards
...
Gateway announces that they are using an INTC motherboard as well as Creative audio
...
connecting these dots might lead one to believe that
CREAF has an OEM deal with INTC
