I have reason to believe the yield may be somewhat higher than the 70s, as someone here claimed. However even if that number were correct, the Celeron costs can not be as high as published estimates. They are likely lower, maybe much lower. That was my point. When the K6-3 appears, AMD's costs will obviously go up and capacity will go down yet it will compete mostly against the Celeron which is already shipping into the low cost market at 2x the K6-2 rate with the ability to drive prices significantly lower while still offering Intel reasonable returns.
