I think it's even riskier than usual to mess with options right now. The market appears to be topping out around here and will probably give back some gains, a possible attack on Iraq, Fed meeting next Tuesday and oh yeah DELL announces earnings today that will probably exceed estimates but may or may not "impress" the street. Yes that is right Bob I am showing up but not because Dell missed their whisper number I had a good source tell me yesterday that this was going to happen but I didnt play it to the downside because Dell could very well go up tomorrow or it could go down..or BOTH. I could have done a straddle...but the specialists usually strip the premium after an earnings announcement by Dell. Little suspicious though that they kept people out of a conference call. Anyway, the reason I am showing up is because of those people that did a hatchet job on me in relation to my comments I made about Kumar. At that time post after post was saying that Kumar had not changed his rating on Dell so he couldnt possibly be saying anything negative about Dell. The PR machine at his company was in full gear the day Dell dropped over 10% because of rumor and many of you believed the game. I told you all that it didnt matter that he didnt change his rating and it didnt matter what his PR machine was saying...i wanted to hear the denial from his own lips (which never came...or at least I never saw it.....when asked..he said "no comment") Of course I was accused of being a short and accused that i didnt know what I was talking about Wonder if he had shares to unload? Well now you see why I said that....and oh yeah...he still hasnt downgraded his rating, has he? I guess some of you now finally see how the game is played with analysts! DO NOT TRUST THEM.... Whether Dell goes up or down tomorrow watch to see if they strip the IV premium on those options i wonder if Dell will still be the same price three months from now... Hasnt made much progress from the highs of August.... ok you can go back to your rah rahing...
