The Neal Boortz Show -- News Talk 750 WSB -- Atlanta Thursday, November 12, 1998 CYNTHIA MCKINNEY AND BERNARD SANDERS -- THE NOT-SO-ODD COUPLE First, about Bernard Sanders. He is a Congressman from Vermont. The U.S. House of Representatives lists Sanders as an "independent." Sanders calls himself a Socialist. Sanders is our sole openly Socialist member of Congress. Or is he? You have heard me refer to Bill and Hillary Clinton as socialists many times. Sure, it's easy to pass that off as the lunatic ravings of a demented, hate-filled talk show host. Before you do, however, elsewhere have made the same charge, as has Nobel laureate Milton remember that the professors who taught the Clintons at Yale and Friedman. Over the past few days I have received many copies of some internet documents that purport to link some members of Congress to the Democratic Socialists of America. I investigated on my own, and the information seems genuine. On the web page for The Democratic Socialists of America you will see some links to something called the Progressive Caucus. The members of the Progressive Caucus, according to the Democratic Socialists, are the House members promoting their agenda in the Congress. If you take the trouble to view their page, you will find that the Chairman of this Caucus is none other than the Vermont Socialist, Bernard Sanders. The Vice-Chair? Well, stand up and be proud, Atlantans. The Vice-Chair is none other than our own Cynthia McKinney! By the way, when Sanders runs for reelection the Clintons always endorse his candidacy. Even when there is a pro-Clinton Democrat running against him! Don't you find that a bit odd?boortz.com
