It's not the major point that he was short. Actually, a stock tends to run down much faster than it moves up. Usually, in my experience, it's harder to get out of a long position when it goes down fast.

Anyway, I just wanted to emphasize the point that a trader should not let a trade go against him to that degree.

My buddy doesn't use protective stops. He sits in front of a machine and hits the button when he wants to buy or sell. Like a market maker. As I said, he likes to add to a short position if it goes against him. It usually works for him. It's a dangerous game. That's all I'm saying. Be careful.
