If you really, really don't want to have to type your password each time, here's what you do in Netscape:

1. Bookmark SI
2. Click on Bookmarks, then Edit Bookmarks
3. Find the SI bookmark
4. Right click on it
5. Select Bookmark Properties
6. In the Location box, insert, after the double slashes, your login name, a colon, your password, and the "@" sign. If your loginname is "myname" and your password is "mypassword", the URL will look like this:

http://myname:mypassword@talk.techstocks.com

7. Click OK to save it.

Now whenever you call up that Bookmark, it will automatically log you on.

I'm on of those who doesn't like to assume I'll be the only one who ever gets at my machine, so I'm not fond of this route, but it does do what you're wanting.

Regards,

SI Admin (Bob)

If we did a poll of the users on SI 75% would vote NO. It's a free country, vote as you please, but learn BOTH sides of the cookie issue.
