Chuca, I received information from Global that convinces me beyond any doubt that there is significant shorting through Canadian brokerages. However Global is realistic and understands that the way to end the shorting is by the company demonstrating value for potential shareholders. PS, I liked what I heard because the "stock" answer from BS penny companies that I have played in the past was to tell shareholders to call in street name certs so they couldn't be borrowed. That has always been pointless in my experience and it was refreshing to have Global recognize the futility of that approach. The company will be successful, the shorts will cover!
