Someone somewhere posted about research at Rensselaer on the blue LED. Here is some more stuff on that and a few other things I found: laurin.com weber.u.washington.edu pns.anl.gov cde.rpi.edu nsf.gov NOTE: this URL mentions "Advanced Technical Materials" in Danbury CT, but somehow I don't think they're the "prominent materials research firm" mentioned in PR. dvorak.mse.vt.edu NOTE: a bunch of good stuff for the ignorant such as me.
