Back in the high flying days of the '80s I had one of those whirlwind trips to New York. A group of us were flown from Chicago to NY first class for a closing dinner after a successful IPO. We get to NY at around 4 PM, check into the hotel, have some time for sightseeing and then go to some exclusive club for a lavish dinner and much drinking and lie-telling. Back to the hotel around 2 am, wake up call at 6:30, flight back to Chicago at 9 (first class, again) and back to the office in Chicago by noon. What a waste of money. It was the time when Gorby was in NY when Bush was President elect and the Armenian earthquake struck. Traffic in Manhattan was really a mess.

"I am glad I am home with my stuff. My house is a mess but it is my stuff!!" Boy, I here you. I'm home with my stuff after many days in other people's. It's insulting, a little, having to be without your stuff.

I had a problem with my bed this morning. And yesterday. The sheet gets in a different place than the blankets. I had MJ get on the other side and she helped me straighten it out.

"I don't know what it is with this bed. I can't get it to work. It doesn't work in the workaday world."

"Neither do you."

Ahh. Home.
