>>> I suspected that the 250 was coming, the subsequent elimination of Jazz I and the price changes for the Jazz II and Zip 100 were tip offs for it's entry. <<<

Reseller, Has Iomega "officially" eliminated Jaz 1GB drives? (actually stopped manufacturing them?) - I've heard this discussed numerous times on the threads, however, I don't recall ever having read anything direct from Iomega regarding this. Perhaps I missed something, could you clarify?

As far as the Zip 250 goes, I believe its time has come and it should do very well. I'd bet they'll even make a profit on the drive. I do wonder if retail Zip 100 sales will be impacted in the short-term by customers who may wait to buy the new drive. I'm also curious if the Iomega is attempting to sell the boxmakers on the 250, or if it is solely intended for retail.

Regards - Dale

Reseller, All: With the r&d cost of the zip250 already expensed and the idea that the zip250 costs the same(close) to the zip100 we will see the profit margins(along with the high margin jaz2 and disks) go up big time....standard again...what a 4th and 1st qts these will be...back to my prediction of 30 in a year!!!! will go back to lurk mode.....
