Daniel, I see the same scenario for 99, only my vision is on the second or third quarter. The only troublesom spots left may be the last Q of this year and the first Q of 99. I believe the RBOCs will greatly increase spending for new products by the second Q of 99. All should keep in mind that I have been consistently wrong about Pair for the last year and a half. I was right own for 95, 96 and part of 97 but my estimates of ADSL deployment were way off thereafter and still may be way off. A new troublesome spot in the HDSL and ADSL arena in 99 is the massive competition that is developing. Back in 94-96 Pair ruled as King. This is no longer true and Mr. Strauchs extreme financial conservatism may be a detriment. Holding cash at 5 percent is a poor use of funds in this highly competitive and profitable technology.
