MSDW has a strong buy rating on Amazon, yet in the private MSDW client reports Mary Meeker suggests the sector is going down and that MSDW customers should hedge their positions. How can they tell their "clients" to sell, yet tell the public that Amazon is a roaringly good buy? Doesn't this point out that analyst recommendations are nothing more than self serving claptrap designed to take money from the little guy?
