I hardly ever trade the long side of the OEX options but I must say that there is a side of me that feels that going long December OTM calls and OTM puts ahead of the FOMC meeting could work out.

I suspect that if rates are lowered the market will rally big time and then sell-off either the same day or later in the week. If the rates are not changed we'll see a sharp sell-off and then a rally by next week.

I am not nimble enough to do this sort of strategy but my sense is that it could work.
