ASAP is around and working moderately well depending on the systems integrator. If you have to replace a legacy non-y2k compliant system and do it fast asap will work. I have a friend in Chicago supervising this process in many locations. However, he agrees with my thesis that SAP will not be successful outside of its core competence since many of their customers are so frustrated. Best in class with snap in integration to back office is a much higher value added proposition than worst in class from a hated supplier. This is especially true for next generation applications that have much higher strategic importance than back office. TD
