Gee, a supposedly hi-tech company that refuses to discuss anything w/shareholders via eMail...hmmm...

Wow that's harsh, especially with so many long time PAIR supporters on this thread. I can understand his wanting to give permission before his responses were posted, but he doesn't have to trash the whole on-line community.

Karl, Absolutely Amazing!

As I see it, this company owes its entire existence to the internet. For them to not understand the importance of this medium is probably at the root of the poor company and stock performance. As to the "spreading of unfounded takeover rumors," it seems that most of these rumors come from a brokerage house analyst with whom they are so quick to share private information.

Your questions were more than reasonable. The shareholders deserve that level of detail at a minimum. With that attitude, I'm really wondering why anyone would buy this stock!

RE:"We don't consider these to be serious forums for PairGain investors. "

There is a federal law that says that if you own 2000 dollars of any stock for over one year you can get up and speak at a shareholders meeting. Maybe Chuck should be reminded that this way of investing is the wave of the future and we OWN part of PAIR..NO MATTER how we bought the shares. CHUCK IS OUT OF LINE!!!! with that comment. And should be reminded who we are.

If he feels so strongly about how much misinformation is posted out here why doesn't he do something about it. By ignoring or refusing to defend he is providing a forum for all the false comments to be taken as possible fact.

Incredible. Kind of stunning. Nothing like holding this stock and having the high paid management pee on you. Nothing like doing two years of research and fussing, and mostly losing value (Chuck), and having the Benz Boys roll up your tie in the window. I've had a hundred K in this company, and I know that's not serious investment, but gee I'm sort of forced to look here for information, because where else is one going to get it? From the one-per-quarter press releases? From happening to be a next-door neighbor to someone they previously e-mailed what must be non-public information?

How stupid are these guys?

And yes, Chuck, I'm entitled to ask that.

This tells us so much more about the company than they ever have. Is this who you want for your partners? Are these the people to inspire employees? Do they treat them similarly? Are they paying attention to where they are? Do they KNOW where they are?

The "fat pig brokered investor" Charles and Chuck want to not-see are the ones who ask no questions. Isn't that right? Just shut up, sit back, and let "them" grow your investment from say 30 to 6.

Other, more polite, more informing corporations, more successful corporations, will be getting my money.

It feels creepy being here now. My interest in PAIR's future has completely evaporated. Just like their interest in mine.

Asta la vista, Chuckie.

Karl,

What a sad day for the PAIR faithful - very taxing on the patience to say the least.

I think that Chuck's frustration was mostly the result of this, not that it's right to respond to you the way he did:

. . . distributing confidential inside information provided by a misguided employee . . .

That goes back several months and had nothing to do with you.

I'm very disappointed in him and his remarks to you. He should be taking his frustrations out on ADTN and his other competitors, not his investors.

Karl, The response that you got from PAIR, simply amazes me. When I bought PAIR (-$11 ago) they didn't ask me to prove that I wasn't a member of an "Outlaw Element". I found this stock on the Internet, bought it on the Internet, and keep up with it on the Internet. (via the Pair thread on SI). I guess they expect us to invest and keep our mouth shut! I read your original post, and it was very informative, but there was nothing in it that a good CEO or CFO wouldn't have put out in a press release long before they told you. I don't know why they are so paranoid about secrecy, because they haven't come up with ANYTHING in 4 quarters, to move this stock.Their strategy seems to be "We don't know what to do, so screw the analysts and shareholders, keep them in the dark, and maybe they won't figure out that we don't have a clue". Of course missing earnings quarter after quarter tends to give away their secret.

I would venture to say that 95% of the people who have posted on this thread were PAIR shareholders. I have seen very little trashing of this stock or this company on this thread. And even fewer takeover rumors. Maybe if they were notified of how many shares are owned by people that post on the Internet, they might wake up.

I am furious,
Jim Ray

I've never posted on this thread before, but I own PAIR, and I really must say that I find PAIR's response appalling.

Chuck Strauch seems a tad bit misguided. If PAIR is indeed concerned about "unfounded takeover rumors," "confidential inside information provided by a misguided employee," or the "spreading (of) bad information with the obvious intent of causing undue volatility of our stock," maybe PAIR could help alleviate these "problems" by better communicating with the investor community (and, it seems, better outlining company policy to it's employees).

Yet instead, PAIR management seems to feel these problems originate here, caused by the investors on SI (and the other Internet message boards).

Mr. Strauch, do you really believe (or seriously wish us to believe) that postings on the Internet have caused PAIR's stock price to drop so much in the past six months? Please...

(And additionally, if SI isn't, in your opinion, a "serious forum for PairGain investors," could you please direct PAIR shareholders to a PAIR-certified investor forum?)

regards,

JS

[Investor Relations]

Won't matter, but had to send this response:

Get with the times Chuck!!!! With this kind of investor relations, no wonder your stock is getting pounded. You would be surprised how much valid information gets passed on Silicon Investor faster than mainstream media. Why don't you check it out before you blindly follow your lawyers' advice.

It would seem management has chosen a variation of the mushroom treatment with certain investors....keep 'em in the dark and feed 'em shit......Maybe they should change their name to HairBRain....a new way to treat investors.....

<Previous PairGain e-mails replying to questions from an investor were, without authorization, posted on the Internet. Therefore I will no longer be responding to investors by e-mail.>

Yeah, Chuckie, how horrible. Disseminating public information like that. Nasty stuff. Bad internet, bad.

<with the obvious intent of causing undue volatility of our stock.>

Read that: Damnit, and I wanna sell some more shares.

<We don't consider these to be serious forums for PairGain investors.>

Hmmm. Wanna tell us where the serious forums are located? I wonder if they'd let me in the boardroom?

C'mon Gimme 18 on a rumor, I want OUT of this nightmare.
