Lynn,

RE: Title: Judge Rules Against Microsoft In Sun Java Lawsuit

I am not sure that it will have any substantial effect from a purchase point of view in the global CPQ scheme of things.

Consumer products are a small percentage of Compaq's overall business and these are the areas that will be affected most IMO.

When I look at Compaq's offerings, (at least in my neck of the woods), I see very few products shipping with Win98 as an option. All the higher end commercial desktops, for example, are still shipping with Win95 or NT as an option. I understand that the big movers locally are the NT versions anyway.

At any rate, Compaq has stated that ALL products are now Windows 2000 compliant, so that should put any purchase delays due to changes in Win98 at bay.

Just Rambling, not an expert in Market(ing) actions and reactions...
