Commercial development? Uh, I guess not. Unless you call creating C++ tools for simulations commercial development.

But I do remember programming a little assembly when I wrote Tetris for my Atari 800XL using BASIC XL. (Ain't I such a nerd?) Perhaps what you were describing was knowledge that I learned back in my Atari days which I now take for granted. I supposed that was common knowledge to any CS junkie.
