Hi Stephen. I know next to nothing about the Y2K problem, but I do know about major industries and especially power generation, as I've worked with them all my life. I can tell you that most major industries, in an attempt to cut costs, have put most, if not all, of their eggs in the computer basket. This includes water delivery. In their attempt to cut costs by downsizing they have replaced skilled people with robotics, computers and even probes. There are now so many interlocks required for the efficient operation of these plants that the thought of switching to manual operation is no longer an option. Even if it were, the skilled workforce is missing. I don't know what will happen in Y2K, but I've been around long enough to know that what companies say, and reality, seldom match. This is the age of cutbacks, not major spending or upgrading and testing. I would like to believe everything will be o.k., but that only leaves me with a bad feeling in my stomach. Regards
