I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on the construction going on with a major backbone being laid from Montreal to Buffalo, NYC, down the Garden State Thruway towards DC and beyond. Chairman Gates and Warren Buffet are some of the investors. They are laying 6 bundles using state thruways and offering free access to the states in return for a free right of way. Sort of a major undertaking in that the NYC to Buffalo phase is costing more that $500M. I love this thread. My only experimentation with fiber is playing with NTSC at home with my kids using Edmund Scientific equipment. (Not counting the network stuff we use at work). Later, GEorge
